The management team of Document Imaging Systems Corporation (DISC) is pleased to announce that The Flesh Company, a document sales and manufacturing operation headquartered in St. Louis, acquired the majority interest in DISC in early January.
DISC is a St. Louis based firm that was founded in 1958. Their core business is currently document imaging which involves scanning, indexing, and providing electronic media storage of customer data, freeing up valuable office and storage space at their customer sites. The original documents are then either shredded or stored off site based upon customer needs.
K.C. Frank, Vice President heading up the sales efforts at DISC, shared his excitement about the merger/acquisition. “The history of the two companies is amazingly similar. Both DISC and The Flesh Company are family owned businesses with a rich culture, as well as a long standing tradition in the St. Louis business community. Subsequent to the acquisition, we have named a new President, Pat Karpen, who brings both a strong financial and operations management background”. K.C. shared “I am very excited about the talents that Pat brings to our organization, which will allow me to focus my expertise and strengths in the area of sales development and management”. The acquisition of the majority interest in DISC by The Flesh Company will also provide DISC with a strong financial backing to allow the Company to grow their operation and customer base.
DISC has gone through a number of evolutions since the organization opened its’ doors in 1958. The Company began operations as Central Microfilm operating under an umbrella of companies knows as Business Products Center. Eventually the company spun off and changed names to DISC.
The Flesh Company began its’ operations in 1913 when the current owner’s grandfather began the printing operation in St. Louis. Roy V. Flesh, II is the present owner of The Flesh Company. The Flesh Company, through its’ Concentric Sourcing division, specializes in providing full services to its customers including printed products, promotional items, and office supplies to St. Louis customers and the surrounding geographic area. The Flesh Company’s printing manufacturing operations are located in Parsons, Kansas. Roy V. Flesh, II shared that “This acquisition is a wonderful opportunity for The Flesh Company. Their expertise in the document industry will allow us to fulfill our corporate mission of expanding the many products and services we provide to our customers, while providing an excellent opportunity to expand our existing customer base.
